WhisperClaims user Phil Ellerby wins big at the 2021 Digital Accountancy Show

Congratulations were definitely in order last week when one of our customers—Phil Ellerby of Northern Accountants Ltd—was named Digital Accountant of the Year 2021 at the Digital Accountancy Show.

Phil is a huge advocate for our software and his use of WhisperClaims was a key component in his win. The team at Northern have been using our software and our support to identify opportunities for R&D tax claims in their client base since 2019, and to develop robust claims on behalf of those clients without having to either outsource these claims or build dedicated resource – the software gives them the structure and all the detail necessary to get the job done quickly and easily & the team here have been available to support them throughout.

The result: Northern identified over £3m of eligible R&D spend in their clients and helped them realise tax benefits of over £600k—this would be a huge result at any time, but during lockdown, when many businesses have had a particularly tough time, this has been a fantastic result.
