Our fully automated R&D tax claims preparation is easy to use, with all the help and guidance that advisors need to prepare R&D tax claims for their clients. Now an award-winning product, WhisperClaims is used by over 250 accountants and consultants in 100 businesses across the UK to prepare comprehensive, detailed reports suitable for submission to HMRC at the touch of a button.

All of that success has come from reaching out to our target audience with a compelling proposition that’s been going down really well. We’ve implemented a structured approach to marketing and lead generation to engage our prospects and turned them into paying customers through the delivery of open, friendly and engaging comms and demos.

We’re looking for an extra pair of hands to join our friendly, busy and driven team to help us with yet more capacity to get even more of this great stuff done.

The Role

A key role in maintaining and ensuring the compliance of our app, communications and customers with HMRC’s guidance on R&D tax relief, the person we’re looking for must be committed to accuracy and customer service.

We don’t prepare claims in house, but we do support our customers in preparing claims for their clients in every way we can. This varies from offering responsive customer support and delivering remote training in the R&D scheme to writing blogs and other content to update our clients on the latest changes to the scheme.

We need someone who is pro-active and a self-starter, able to:

  • Communicate directly with customers to support them in preparing R&D claims
  • Write about complex and often niche subjects in clear and fluent English
  • Develop comprehensive product knowledge and be able to offer technical support to our customers
  • Deliver training in the R&D tax scheme
  • Work remotely, using Zoom, Slack and other comms platforms

You will be proactive, positive, and passionate about WhisperClaims and maintaining high standards for the preparation of R&D tax relief claims. A skilled verbal and written communicator with excellent presentation, customer service, time management, and computer skills. You must be adaptable, proactive, supportive, and detail-oriented.


  • Be the first line of support for technical and scheme queries
  • Work with clients to resolve questions and queries
  • Produce technical content for the Marketing team
  • Work with the Marketing team to plan the technical content of campaigns
  • Plan and deliver training on the R&D tax relief scheme
  • Liaise frequently with the Operations Director to ensure that they’re brought in at appropriate points in the support process
  • Support the Product Owner in scoping out and testing new features for the WhisperClaims app, ensuring that the outputs remain compliant with HMRC’s guidance

Person specification:

  • In-depth knowledge of the UK R&D tax relief scheme
  • Experience of customer service in a similar B2B environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Happy to manage own workload and work independently
  • Used to working remotely with video comms platforms such as Zoom, Teams etc
  • Happy to work in a small, dynamic, flexible team environment where priorities and workload may fluctuate – able to manage own work with little supervision
  • Hungry to learn & remain up to date with both the R&D tax scheme (basic R&D tax guidelines / criteria, changes, challenges to the R&D scheme) and new features and developments within our software
