Price restructuring to keep you competitive

On the 17th November 2022, the Chancellor announced changes to the R&D tax relief scheme designed to reduce fraud and non-compliance with the R&D tax relief guidelines.

To reflect the changes to the scheme, we’re going to implement a change to our core pricing model, that will effectively reduce the price of smaller SME claims, and simplify our pricing structure.

What’s changed?

Small claims

Effective from 19th December 2022 all downloads will be priced on the basis of 2% of all expenditure up to the price cap (currently priced at 2.5%).

You will effectively see a 20% price drop on small claims (for example, £10k of eligible spend was previously £250, post the change this will be £200).

RDEC claims

As per the governments intention of aligning the two schemes, we will do the same with our pricing – so from 19th December both RDEC and SME elements of a claim will be priced at the same 2% level rather than differentiating between the two schemes.

Our intention is to ensure that small claims, where margins are going to be squeezed for all providers the most, are still an area where you can remain competitive.

How to write an R&D tax relief technical narrative

With HMRC’s new mandatory requirement for project descriptions on all submissions, we wanted to share our experiences to help others to write their best possible technical narratives.
